clearRobotics dreams are getting closer to reality. The American electric car startup, in collaboration with its partners Uber and Nuro, unveiled the production version of its upcoming Gravity autonomous taxi today at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
Based on the Gravity SUV made by Lucid in Arizona, the driverless taxi already hit San Francisco roads for testing in December last year, with safety drivers behind the wheel, before being rolled out to the public in the Bay Area later in 2026.

Lucid and Nuru plan to have more than 100 robotaxis as part of the engineering test fleet, which will participate in real-world testing, as well as closed-track validation and simulation.

Lucid Gravity is described as the most luxurious vehicle in the robotaxi industry, providing an unprecedented in-cabin experience. The electric SUV can carry up to six passengers, and the robotaxi version’s interior is mostly unchanged compared to the standard model. However, Uber has created a personalized in-ride experience, with interactive screens that allow riders to change climate control settings, turn on the heated seats, and change the music. There are also options to contact support and request parking.

The American-made electric robotaxis will be available exclusively on the Uber platform, with the ride-hailing giant investing $300 million in Lucid as part of the deal. Robotaxi production is expected to begin on an assembly line in Arizona later this year, pending final validation.
