Mazda has been late to the electric car party, but it’s finally picking up steam in a market that doesn’t reward laggards. After subtraction Stylish 6e sedan In Europe and China last year, the automaker returned with another sharp-looking electric vehicle, the CX-6e crossover.
It was first unveiled in China last year, where it bears the name EZ-60The European-spec CX-6e made its debut on Friday at the Brussels Motor Show. The CX-6e will be manufactured in China by Mazda’s joint venture partner, Changan Automobile, and is based on the same basic architecture as the car. Changan Dybal S07.
but Mazda She clearly worked hard to give it her own identity. In terms of design, the CX-6e looks much closer to Mazda than its Chinese sibling.
The exterior appearance is clean and futuristic, with smooth, rounded body panels and little visual clutter. Up front, slim daytime running lights are connected by a full-width LED light bar that wraps around the enclosed grille, giving the crossover a distinctive face. The sharply sculpted rear windshield looks familiar to anyone who’s spent time with larger Mazda SUVs like the CX-60 and CX-90.

The CX-6e has a 78-kilowatt-hour lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, good for a WLTP range of 484 kilometers, or about 300 miles. This number is tracking Tesla Model Y Premium in Europe, which can extend to around 387 miles, but is on par with rivals such as the Audi Q4 e-tron.
However, charging performance seems to be a stronger point. Mazda says the CX-6e supports DC fast charging speeds of up to 195 kilowatts, enabling a 10-80% charge in approximately 24 minutes under ideal conditions. For charging at home or the workplace, it also supports 11kW AC charging.

Power goes to the rear wheels, thanks to a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 255 horsepower (190 kilowatts) and 214 pound-feet of torque. This setup should be good for 0-62 mph acceleration in about 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 115 mph. Nothing to brag about here, but it should be plenty for the target audience.
Moving forward, the minimalist design extends from the exterior to the cabin as well. The center console appears devoid of physical buttons and is instead dominated by a massive 26-inch screen that serves as the main infotainment display and passenger entertainment screen. Mazda says the system includes a built-in voice assistant that supports nine languages, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

For now, however, none of this helps Mazda’s lineup in the US. The brand’s electrification strategy in the United States currently relies heavily on hybrids like the CX-70 and CX-90. There is no dedicated battery-electric Mazda on sale in the United States today. The MX-30 electric crossover was quietly discontinued in 2023 after a very limited run.
