  • Many luxury electric cars are about to get much cheaper as we head into 2026.
  • This is because dealers still have plenty of inventory left for the 2025 and even 2024 models.
  • As time goes by, traders will want to get rid of them sooner rather than later.

Even with the generous $7,500 federal incentive for electric vehicles, there’s good news on the horizon for car buyers interested in going electric. Heading into 2026, many dealers will have inventory left over from this year through last year. And if you know the dealers, you know they’ll want to put these cars on sale sooner rather than later, which means there are some good deals to be had.

To help guide your deal-hunting, iSeeCars tallied the vehicles with the most inventory from the 2024 and 2025 model years in a new study.

The highest discounts will likely apply to 2024 models, which have had plenty of time to depreciate in value, even though they are still brand new cars. according to iSeeCarsthe Genesis GV60 The crossover tops the list of electric vehicles with the largest remaining inventory for 2024 in the United States. Dodge Chargerwith 20.9% of dealer inventory consisting of 2024 models Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Hummer EV SUV Round the list.

With many automakers moving to 2026 and even 2027 models, these 2024 electric cars could enable customers to achieve a lot more.

“The $7,500 EV incentive has been around for most of the past two years, but it hasn’t been compelling enough to find buyers for these 2024 models,” said Karl Brauer, executive analyst for iSeeCars. “This is an opportunity for electric vehicle buyers to negotiate.”

If a newer electric car has more appeal – and why wouldn’t it? – You should know that the list of remaining 2025 models is much longer. Discounts on these cars will likely be lower than 2024 models, but dealers will still try to make room for the latest and greatest. So, if you see something you like, click to get more discounts.

“With the federal electric vehicle incentive expiring, dealers will have to be more flexible with the pricing of their electric vehicles. This is especially true for electric vehicles that have a high percentage of 2025 model year inventory even as January 1, 2026, approaches,” Brauer said.

The discontinued model could lead to a greater price reduction. Cars like Audi Q8 e-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQB and Polestar 2 They are no longer offered as new cars in the United States, so dealers may be tempted to sacrifice more to get rid of them.

“Cold weather and holiday distractions make the end of the year a good time to buy a car,” Brauer said. “Combine these factors with the remaining new 2024 or 2025 models that dealers can’t seem to unload, and there’s likely to be a deal-making opportunity for buyers looking to take advantage of their ‘remaining’ or ‘discontinued’ status.”
