- Coilover suspension system.
- Special fuel programming.
- Horsepower: about 560 hp (previously reaching 670 hp with various modifications), and it runs on a mixture of station fuel and MS109 racing fuel.
2. Karim’s car: Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (2009 model)
Old Shelby car It came back from the dead after a 4-year hiatus, thanks to the touches of the specialized garage Powered By Ford and the expertise of the creator, Salem Al Hashemi.
Engine: 5.4-liter supercharged V8.
Modifications:
- Supercharged Giant Whipple 2.9.
- Fully modified fuel system (injectors + programming).
- Full exhaust (Kooks headers + Fox catback).
- Secret weapon: 15-inch rear wheels with Mickey Thompson ET Street S tires to ensure incredible grip. Their installation required special modifications to the rear brake system.

During the episode, Karim Deeb touched on a “dramatic” story he lived with the Shelby, where the car suffered from an unknown problem for 4 years that caused it to enter “Safe Mode” repeatedly. The solution finally came at the hands of Salem Al Hashemi at the Powered By Ford garage, who reprogrammed and maintained the car to make it ready to eat asphalt. Oil (Motorcraft 5W50), filters, and spark plugs (Brisk) were changed to ensure maximum performance.
The course of the race: drama, excitement, and an unexpected result!
The challenge took place in a legal and safe environment inside the Emirates Motorplex Circuit, and included two starts: from scratch (Dig Race) and from a speed of 60 km/h (Roll Race).
The first round: starting from scratch
As the whistle blew, both cars jumped hard! But something unexpected happened. Karim Deeb took his foot off the pedal before the official finish line, thinking that the first yellow line was the end!
Result: Technical victory for Suhaib Shashaa with a Mercedes C63. Although Karim was ahead, his mistake cost him the round, and as they say: “The race ends at the finish line.”
Round 2: Roll start (60 km/h)
Here the brute American power appeared, although the Mercedes resisted fiercely, but the supercharged Whipple and the torque of the Shelby car had their say.
The result: clear superiority of the Shelby GT500.

To please the audience and break up the fight, the duo decided to repeat the scratch race “just for fun.” In this round, Shelby started with terrifying grip thanks to the 15-inch tires, and the competition was intense until the last meter.
