Karma Automotive on Thursday unveiled the new Amaris Series hybrid coupe during the company’s first Create Karma product showcase event held in Irvine, California.
Karma was preparing to launch a separate coupe Fully electric Caviain 2026, but the company said on Thursday that it will postpone this model to 2027 due to changing dynamics of demand for electric cars in the luxury segment. The Amaris will help fill the gap by launching in the market in late 2026 Evara electric SUV It is also scheduled for 2027.
Unlike the Kaveya, which is built around a new dedicated EV platform capable of delivering more than 1,000 horsepower, the Amaris will use a modified version of the platform found in the only Karma currently on sale, the Revero sedan, helping to accelerate its development. The Revero platform can trace its roots back to the original Fisker Karma, which launched in the early 2000s. Karma was born from the remains of the original Fisker, which went bankrupt in 2013.
Karma said on Thursday also that previously announced Jesera electric sedan It will now initially arrive as a plug-in hybrid series, with a revised design compared to the original that was first shown a year ago. The Gyesera plug-in hybrid model is scheduled to be launched later this year and will replace the Revero, which has been on sale since 2017.

“We are building a portfolio of vehicles that will deliver exceptional EV torque and performance combined with worry-free cruising range, a combination that only the (Plug-in Hybrid Series) can achieve,” Marquis McCammon, Karma’s president, said in a statement.
The plug-in hybrid series, often referred to as extended range electric cars, feature electric motors but with smaller batteries compared to typical electric cars. Instead, the gas engine acts as a generator to charge the battery and, in some cases, also sends power directly to the electric motor(s) during high-load situations.
For the Amaris – and likely the Gyesera as well – the Karma will use a turbocharged four-cylinder engine as a generator instead of the turbocharged three-cylinder engine currently found in the Revero, which relies on two electric motors at the rear axle to generate 536 horsepower. The Revero also comes with a 28-kilowatt-hour battery, which Karma estimates can provide 80 miles of pure electric range. Karma did not provide further details about the Amaris’ powertrain, but said the car will accelerate to 60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds and will hit a top speed of 165 mph.
Pricing and the start of deliveries for the Amaris and Gyesera have not been announced. Production is scheduled to take place at Karma’s factory in Moreno Valley, California.
