Japanese manufacturer Nissan has officially launched the updated Nissan Serena.

Nissan Serena was launched in the Japanese market 3 years after the launch of the sixth generation of the car.

What’s new in Nissan Serena?

The update includes notable design improvements, along with an updated infotainment system with integrated Google services, as well as an expanded list of categories.

Mechanically, the car is based on the same platform (basic structure) and known engine options without changes.

The most notable visual change is the larger front grille that extends to the bottom of the redesigned bumper, with a design touch reminiscent of Lexus cars. The grille features an asymmetrical pattern, and there are sharp triangular air vents and new vertical LED lights.

However, this front design is not available on all models, as it is limited to the (Highway Star V), (Autech Line) and (e-Power Luxion) categories.

While the lower and middle categories retain the previous, more conservative design, with a smaller front grille.

The Autech version also gets the large grille, but with a different chrome design, a special LED lighting signature, distinctive details for the air inlets, and sporty touches on the undercarriage that enhance the visual presence.

Interior of the updated Nissan Serena

The three-row cabin (with seven or eight seats) doesn’t differ much in terms of overall design, but a new Tyler Fit upholstery option has been added that gives a higher level of customization.

The 12.3-inch central screen now works with the updated Nissan Connect system, with integrated Google services, providing a smoother user experience.

Support for the ProPilot NaviLink system has been removed and is no longer available as an option.

The safety and assistance systems have also been updated to include features such as an advanced intelligent surround vision system.

Nissan removed the control buttons for the electric side doors from the third row, but added the option of a new 15.6-inch rear screen for passengers.

The captain’s chairs no longer include built-in footrests and are only available as optional extras.

For those looking for the ultimate in practicality, there are two dedicated categories available: Multi Box and Multi Bed.

The Multi Box adds a large storage unit in the luggage compartment, which can be used as a seat or table.

While the Multi Bed turns the interior cabin into a sleeping space, making it a suitable option for light camping.

Nissan Serena engines

As we mentioned, the Nissan Serena maintains its current mechanical options, as it is available with a gasoline system or a hybrid system.

Options include a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine that generates 148 horsepower, while the e-Power hybrid system has a total power of 161 horsepower, with both options available with front or all-wheel drive.

Updated Nissan Serena prices

The updated Nissan Serena has begun selling in Japan, with deliveries starting in February 2026.

Prices start at 2,785,200 yen (about 17,700 dollars) for the basic gasoline version, and reach 5,099,600 yen (about 32,400 dollars) for the highest hybrid category (e-4ORCE Multi-Bed Autech).
