Nissan launched the updated (facelifted) version of the Ariya in Japan.
Nissan gave its electric crossover car a new look and a number of upgrades about 4 years after its first launch.
The Ariya continues its strong presence with improvements in design, technology and suspension tuning.
The 2026 Ariya appeared for the first time during the Japan Mobility Expo earlier this year.
Nissan has now revealed the full lineup for the local market, and the same updates are expected to be rolled out in other markets in the coming months.
The most prominent changes in the updated Nissan Ariya 2026
The 2026 Nismo version of the Ariya received a technical update, but its shape is identical to its predecessor, as we see in the main image of the news, while the basic version of the updated Ariya got a new front fascia without a ventilation grille, as it is an electric car, with a redesigned bumper and sharper LED lights that give the car a more aggressive appearance, while the sides and rear remained unchanged.
The visual modifications are also accompanied by new 20-inch wheels that combine aluminum and resin, and buyers can choose a new green color called Hisuinohikari, which combines a plasma green body with black accents on the roof, pillars and lower trim.
Interior and technology of the updated Ariya 2026
The cabin design is still familiar, but the technical aspect has witnessed a notable development, as the Nissan Connect system now runs on Google’s software architecture, which supports new functions such as linking navigation to battery conditioning (Navi-Link Battery Conditioning) and intelligent distance control.
A new leather option has been added in a calm green color, with light gray elements that give the cabin a softer and more elegant look.
An external AC power port has been developed that is capable of supplying power of up to 1,500 watts, even when the car is locked.
Mechanical specifications of the updated Ariya 2026
The Ariya maintains two 66 kWh (B6) and 91 kWh (B9) batteries, with the option of single-motor front-wheel drive or dual-motor e-4ORCE all-wheel drive. Nissan says the suspension system has been improved, with a focus on comfort and providing a smoother driving experience.
Ariya Nismo Edition… updates to technical systems only
The Ariya Nismo will also return in the refreshed lineup, with updates limited to a new Google-based infotainment system, a high-capacity external power outlet and intelligent safety distance control.
However, the Nismo version did not receive the visual updates found in the standard models of the Ariya, maintaining the previous aggressive sports body package.
The Nismo version also continues to rely on the e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system with two electric motors, specially tuned for this category.
Price of the updated Nissan Ariya
Prices for the updated Ariya start at 6,675,900 yen (about $42,400) for the B6 with front-wheel drive and reach 8,072,900 yen (about $51,300) for the B9 with e-4ORCE, an increase of 85,800 yen (about $550) compared to the previous model.
Prices for the updated Ariya Nismo will be announced at a later date.
