Mitsubishi has updated its Mitsubishi Triton truck, including a redesign of the front end.

This update was limited to one category only, which is the Street version of the medium-sized pickup, which is sold in Thailand along with other categories of the Triton.

The Triton Street comes with a Mega Cab, colloquially known as a cab and a half, which includes additional space behind the driver and passenger seats, making the Street wider than the Single Cab from Triton, and smaller than the Double Cab with 4 doors and 4 seats.

The Street features a new fascia with a redesigned front grille that departs from the usual Dynamic Shield design language used in the standard Triton.

The car includes a larger black lower protection plate, and slightly modified front bumper vents.

The Street version only uses halogen headlights, completely dispensing with fog lights.

As its name suggests, the Street is designed for use on paved roads.
The vehicle rides on new 17-inch black aluminum wheels, while maintaining the standard suspension height.
The Street is available in only three color options: pearlescent white, silver, and dark gray metallic, all with contrasting black accents.

There are no changes to the mechanical specifications of the Mitsubishi Triton Street
The Triton Street is based on Mitsubishi’s standard 2.4-litre 4-cylinder Turbo Diesel engine producing 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) and 330 Nm of torque.
It is noteworthy that this basic version was chosen instead of the more powerful 181-horsepower version used in higher categories.
The engine is linked exclusively to a 6-speed manual transmission, which transmits power to the rear wheels only. There is no four-wheel drive system (4WD) available, but the category gets an Active Limited-Slip Differential, which applies braking to the wheel that loses grip and directs torque to the wheel with better grip.
The Street category includes basic equipment that includes cloth seats, three airbags, a two-speaker audio system, along with hill start assist and a forward collision mitigation system (Forward Collision Mitigation – FCM) with a 10-inch information and entertainment screen.

Mitsubishi triton street price
It is currently available for sale in Thailand at a price starting from 649,000 Thai baht, or about 20,700 US dollars, which is the cheapest and simplest category.
It remains unclear whether this new interface will be transferred to other Triton categories in a future update, or whether it will remain an exclusive experience for the Thai market.
The Mitsubishi Triton is due for launch in 2023, meaning it could get a mid-life refresh by 2027, and limited design and technology tweaks could help boost its competitiveness in the hotly contested mid-size pickup segment.
Triton Street competitors
Among the most prominent competitors of the Triton Street are the Toyota Hilux, the recently updated Ford Ranger, and the new Nissan Navara, which shares engineering principles with the Triton.
The list of competitors also includes Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50 and Kia Tasman, along with a growing number of Chinese competitors.
